McKinley Village Lodge in Denali, Alaska

McKinley Village Lodge gives tourists an alternative to camping inside the expansive wilderness of Denali National Park and Preserve in Alaska. The lodge sits next to the Nenana River and is around 125 miles from Fairbanks, Alaska.

  1. Accomodations

    • The 150 guestrooms of the lodge are split between seven buildings. Four types of rooms are available: standard, riverview, king studio and king studio with a view. Riverview and king with a view rooms look out onto the Nenana River. Standard and king studio rooms have views of trails and various parking lots. Standard rooms come with the option of two double beds or two queen beds per room. Riverview rooms provide two double beds per room. King rooms offer only one king bed per room. All rooms include television, alarm clock, phone, hair dryer and coffee maker.

    Summit Lodge and Yukon Outpost

    • Summit Lodge and Yukon Outpost are the central buildings on lodge grounds. Both feature Wi-Fi, coffee stores and gift shops. Summit Lodge includes the front desk as well as two restaurants. Yukon Outpost is the pick-up and drop off area for all shuttles and transportation.

    Activities

    • Many activities are available to tourists that incur a separate fee. Tours that deal with the history and terrain of the area and involve transportation such as buses, helicopters or hiking can be reserved. Whitewater rafting excursions are conducted to the Nanana River Canyon. Guests can rent mountain bikes or use around the Denali trails, and golfers will find a full golf course at Black Diamond in Denali National Park.

    Travel Considerations

    • Trains and airports service major areas such as Fairbanks and Anchorage. Visitors can reserve shuttles or private vehicles to reach the lodge.
