For those times you really want to get away from it all, head to a lodge such as the Sadie Cove Wilderness Lodge, which can only be reached by float plane, helicopter or boat. The Sadie Cove Wilderness Lodge is located close to Homer on a beach in Kachemak Bay State Park. This is an eco-friendly lodge that runs on wind and hydro power. Its five cabins are rustic but still offer guests running water, elecricity and toilets. Three meals, served family-style in the main lodge, are included with your room rate.
