The Southcenter Mall in Seattle is considered to be the largest retail center in the Evergreen State. The shopping center boasts over 240 stores and recently underwent a large-scale renovation in 2008 totaling 400,000 square feet. As apart of the new changes, the mall introduced a highly awaited dining terrace, bringing several new restaurants to the retail center.
BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse, a national brewhouse and restaurant chain with locations in 13 states, is located at level one of the Southcenter Mall, near the Cascade Garage. From ribs and steaks to pasta dishes and sandwiches, flanked by a whole menu of salads, soups and appetizers, the restaurants offers a eclectic menu of continental American fare. The brewhouse also offers a gluten-free menu, as well as a lunch specials promotion, with dishes starting at $5.95. In addition to their brews, which range from pale ales, porters and stouts, the restaurant has a full-service bar.

Typically a staple of many malls, the Cheescake Factory has been a favorite for mall shoppers for years. With a menu boasting over 200 selections, the Cheesecake Factory offers a wide variety of entrees, appetizers, salads and sandwiches. Favorites include Louisiana Chicken Pasta, seafood such as shrimp scampi and grilled salmon, meat dishes such as filet mignon, pork chops and ribs, and specialties such as shepherd's pie and chicken marsala and mushrooms. Duke's Chowder House at the Southcenter Mall is known for its all-natural clam chowder. In fact, at the local Seattle Chowder Cook Off, the restaurant was the champion for three years running. Open for both lunch and dinner, the restaurants serves up entrees such as Alaskan halibut and fish and chips, a selection of cheeseburgers, and dinner-sized salads such as chicken cobb and steak salad. Some of their award-winning chowders include crab and bourbon and lobster chowder. The chowder house also has a full-service bar, complete with happy hour. Their selections of desserts, include Butterfinger pie.
