    Nemo's

    • Nemo's is in the Corktown area of west Detroit. The restaurant previously won third-place in the "Best Sports Bars in the United States" ratings from "Sports Illustrated" magazine. The restaurant is known for its burgers, which come with a choice of cheeses like blue or Swiss. A salmon burger is also featured on the menu as well as other sandwiches, such as the BLT, the Reuben and the liverwurst. The restaurant also makes one or two fresh soups each day with selections including navy bean, seafood bisque and tomato-basil ravioli. Nemo's serves lunch daily and has a limited dinner menu. The restaurant stays open late every evening. Reservations are not taken. Casual attire is appropriate. The restaurant has a free shuttle available for Red Wings, Lions and Tigers home games.

    Le Petit Zinc

    • Also located in Corktown, Le Petit Zinc is a French-style cafe named after the French slang phrase for "neighborhood bar." Crepes are a specialty of the house, and the restaurant offers 15 varieties, such as the lemon and sugar or the honey. Savory crepes are also featured like the smoked salmon and hard-boiled egg or the goat cheese, spinach and pine nut. A signature entree is the ratatouille, a vegetarian stew that contains eggplant, yellow squash, zucchini, onions and tomatoes. The menu also includes platters of charcuterie, artisanal cheeses and smoked salmon as well as sandwiches and salads. Hours and days of operation for Le Petit Zinc vary seasonally. Reservations are suggested. Business casual attire is the norm.
