Every day, Voodoo Beach welcomes bikini-clad and shades-laden patrons into the landscaped swimming pool club area. They dance on deck or underneath the waterfalls to DJ-delivered music, while swimming up to the open bar waiting for the well-trained “showtenders” who work the bar and will mix a signature Rio mojito. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Voodoo Beach's all-inclusive wristband cover charge ranges from $65 to $100, as of 2010 rates and private cabana rental for six is available for $400 per day.

    Coyote Ugly Saloon at New York-New York Hotel

    • Coyote Ugly Saloon located in the New York-New York Hotel and Casino. It was made popular by the mainstream pop movie sharing its name and opened in Las Vegas in 2001. It quickly lived up to its predecessor's namesake located in the real Big Apple. Managed by Pure Management Group, this Las Vegas bar and nightclub is known for its female "showtenders" (called coyotes), who mix and serve drinks, plus dance on the bar; not your typical bartenders. The jukebox and bar opens every day at 6 p.m. and nightclub activities commence at 9 p.m., running until 2 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Dress is casual and the cover charge ranges from $10 to $20, as of 2010 prices.

    Tryst Nightclub at the Wynn Hotel

    • Open from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., Thursday through Sunday, the Tryst Nightclub at the Wynn Hotel is an upscale nightspot which draws “A-list” celebrity names and hosts Top 40, Hip Hop and House DJ talent for its edgy patrons who are willing to pay for the best. Dress code is strictly enforced and reservations for tables are necessary. Although the nightclub has a capacity of 1,200 persons, waiting in line to enter frequently occurs. Cover charges in 2010 were listed at $30 for men and $20 for women.

    LAX the Nightclub at Luxor Hotel

    • LAX the Nightclub at Luxor is the place in Las Vegas to see and be seen on the nightclub scene. Open Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10 p.m. until late, LAX is one of the most sought-after nightclub entries in Las Vegas, with many hopefuls each night standing in line for hours; with some never gaining entrance. With a capacity of 1,100 and featuring rotating in-house DJs plus guest talent, LAX entrance fees were $60 for men and $40 for women, as of 2010. VIP tables and private loft seating was listed at $375 up to $950 for a party of four people. Fashionable attire is mandatory and music style varies nightly.

    Moon/Playboy Club at the Palms Casino Resort

    • When the founder of Playboy, Hugh Hefner, sought to breathe life back into the Playboy Club nightclub brand, Las Vegas proved more than willing to provide the necessary energy and scene for a successful launch. Thus, the Moon/Playboy Club Las Vegas at the Palms Casino Resort was born. The nightclub visitor gains entrance to both clubs with one $25 cover charge and both the Moon dance club and the Playboy Club lounge remain open late. Patrons of the two clubs include sports stars and celebrities, as well as Las Vegas high rollers. Moon provides for guests who desire the high energy of the hip hop dance scene, while the Playboy Club bar and lounge sees to the gambling elite and business meetings, which are held in reservation-only private hosted bar rooms costing up to $120 per person. Occupancy in each club is 499 and each club serves only those with prepaid guest tickets, so no waiting in line occurs. Moon opens its dance party at 11 p.m. and the Playboy Club Bar opens at 9 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
