Country Dance Clubs in Myrtle Beach

By day, Myrtle Beach offers sun worshippers and water lovers a smorgasbord of virtually any water sport you care to try. Once the sun sinks below the horizon, trade your beach duds for some western wear and step out to one of the city's nightclubs for some country dancing.

  1. Take a Lesson

    • If you want to cut a rug but don't know where to begin, head to Rodeo Bar and Grill for free line dancing lessons on Sunday afternoons. Stick around for dinner and enjoy practicing what you learned at a free line dancing session from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. The Rodeo is open seven nights a week with daily themes and specials, bull-riding contests and nightly music and dancing. The Rodeo has a full menu of steaks and grub to suit most appetites.

    Turn a Page in History

    • Once home to the country music group Alabama, the Bowery has a music museum flair that's developed over the years since it opened in 1944. The group's house band at time of publication, the Bounty Hunters, have been rocking the joint for more than 20 years. The Bowery is the place to catch local and national acts or to just kick back and watch talented servers manage 10 or more mugs of beer without using a tray. The Bowery is approximately one block from the ocean on 9th Avenue.

    Dress It Up

    • Head over to Revolutions at Broadway at the Beach for the Thursday night concert series that features live bands playing country music as well as classic rock and other styles. Revolutions features a roomy dance floor with a state-of-the-art sound system. The smoke-free club is open Wednesday through Sunday to guests 21 years and older and enforces a strict dress code prohibiting athletic wear, sleeveless shirts, torn jeans and other too-casual attire.

    Dead Dog Days of Summer

    • On the south side of Myrtle Beach, the Dead Dog Saloon has live entertainment on a nightly basis. Bands range from country to folk and rock 'n' roll. The establishment lies directly on the Murrels Inlet waterfront offering views out over the water while you dance the night away to the sound of local bands. The saloon serves meals from hearty breakfasts to full steak and seafood dinners, appetizers and everything in between.
