Winter Springs is a city in Seminole County in Florida, with a population of 32,727 as of July 2009. This RV park, about 16 miles--25 minutes--from Winter Springs, is a family-owned and operated establishment that was founded in 1972. It has 81 full hook-up campsites with 30 amp service, paved packs and picnic tables on all sites. Almost all sites are shaded by tree canopies. The park has full-service bath houses, wireless Internet, a large swimming pool, basketball court, horseshoes, a convenience store and laundry facilities. The adjacent scenic West Orange Trail has hiking, horseback riding, bicycling, rollerblading and running. Other activities nearby include golf, fishing, surfing, boating, sailing and kayaking.

Officially called the Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake, this park is 23.1 miles and about 30 minutes from Winter Springs. It is a 300-acre oasis created by the city of Orlando. Campsites for trailers and RVs are rented out at $15 per night (2010 prices), including use of picnic tables, barbecue pits. electricity and water. A sewer hookup costs an extra $3, while a more primitive four-person tent site in a less-shady area costs $7. Reservations for camping are required. The park has hiking, biking, kiddie play areas, a fishing pier, boats for rent, and a large pool for swimming. Next door is an authentic 100-year-old barn.

Located19.8 miles and less than 30 minutes from Winter Springs, the Weikiva Falls Resort & RV Park has almost 800 full hook-up sites and more than 100 tent sites. It has campsites for primitive tenting, some along the water. The park also has sites near shower facilities, picnic tables and grills, and sites with electric. It has a swimming lagoon around which is built a cement deck with chairs. It also has a 9,000-square-foot clubhouse with a heated outdoor pool. All roads within the park are paved. This park is open from April 1st to November 30th of each year.
