Koa Kamping Cabins Nearest to Glenwood Springs, Colorado

Many KOA campgrounds, which provide a camping experience that includes hotel-style amenities and facilities, have log cabins available for rent. One-room cabins, which accommodate four people, and two-room cabins, which accommodate six people, both typically include a fire pit and free wireless Internet. While there are no KOA cabins in the immediate vicinity of Glenwood Springs, cabins are available in the surrounding area.

    • Grand Junction is 87 miles, or one and a half hours, southwest of Glenwood Springs.     Buena Vista

    • Buena Vista is 100 miles southeast of Glenwood Springs, and the drive takes approximately two and a half hours. Buena Vista KOA is located in a mountain valley, surrounded by pinon pines and one mile from the Arkansas River. Activities such as hiking, biking, horseback riding, rafting and hot springs bathing are available in the area. The campground, which features games, summer breakfasts and a meeting room, has cabins with electricity and heat, but no plumbing. Rates are $60 a night for one-room cabins and $75 a night for two-room cabins, as of August 2010.

    Denver East/Strasburg

    • This KOA facility, located in Strasburg about 190 miles, or three hours, east of Glenwood Springs, is 50 miles from the base of the Rocky Mountains and conveniently situated for day trips to Denver. It offers a swimming pool and hot tub during the summer, indoor and outdoor games and hayrides. As of August 2010, rates are $55 a night for a one-room cabin with a porch swing, $65 a night for a two-room cabin, and $59 a night for a deluxe one-room cabin which includes a refrigerator and a private patio with a gas grill.

    Ouray

    • Ouray, which is three hours and 158 miles south of Glenwood Springs, contains a KOA campground situated along the Uncompahgre River and San Juan Mountains. With an elevation of 7,250 feet, the Ouray ground offers a view of alpine forests and visits to ghost towns, mines and hot springs. Amenities include a game room, playground, hot tub, bluegrass music and barbecue dinners. As of August 2010, there are three types of one-room cabins available for rent, all of which run $61 a night: stream-side cabins, cabins near the playground, and cabins with a mountain view.
