Warren is a city in Macomb County, Michigan, with a population of around 130,000. There are very few nightclubs in the city limits of Warren, but around it are hundreds of places to go out for the evening. Warren being also a suburb of Detroit, and its surrounding cities have nightclubs featuring popular entertainment options such live bands and karaoke machines.

Located in Ferndale, less than eight miles from Warren, Boogie Fever is a café and disco with an illuminated dancefloor, whose motif is the 1970s and '80s. It is Metro Detroit’s largest nightclub, with room for 900 people in 11,000 square feet of space. It opens at 8 p.m. but starts to charge a cover at 9 p.m. ($6 on Fridays and $7 on Saturdays in 2010). The kitchen stays open until 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and the menu includes salads, burgers and pizzas and a lot of appetizers. Reservations for Fridays and Saturdays are accepted. Women over 40 and members of bachelorette parties are allowed in free.

Founded by three musician brothers, the I-Rock Nightclub is 12 miles from Warren and claims to be one of Detroit’s premier nightclubs. Open from 6 p.m. until late, it charges a cover of $12 as of 2010. Well-known and upcoming rock bands (such as Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels, Insane Clown Posse, LA Guns, and A Flash of Seagulls) have played at I-Rock. This nightclub’s website describes visits here as “a walk down rock and roll memory lane,” where bar personnel are friendly and welcoming. T-shirts, jackets and sweatshirts are sold on-site, while guitars are both bought and sold.
