Fondue-style dining refers to the collective sharing of table-top hot pot menu items. Traditional fondue restaurants serve an assortment of melted cheese, sauces and dessert fondues with dipping foods, allowing guests to dip, marinade or cook entrees at the table. Las Vegas is home to one traditional fondue restaurant; however features restaurants that offer variations, providing similar menu options or dining experiences.

  1. The Melting Pot

    • The Melting Pot is located in North Las Vegas, approximately five miles west of the Las Vegas Strip. This restaurant offers appetizer, entrée and dessert tabletop fondue dining options, implementing various cheeses, sauces, chocolate and dipping items. Diners can order one course or eat three full courses of fondue-style cuisine.

      Melting Pot starters include a cheese choice between cheddar, Swiss and a combination of aged selections such as Fontina and Butterkase. Dipping selections include various fruits, vegetables and bread. Main course fondue dishes are prepared in a choice of sauces and flavors at the table by guests. Wine and Caribbean-spiced sauces are amongst the selection and served with raw seafood or meat such as shrimp, lobster, steak and chicken. Guests cooked their chosen meat to a preferred temperature in the fondue pots.

      The Melting Pot offers a dessert fondue with the option of warm and melted white, milk or dark chocolate pots. Extra toppings and flavors include caramel and Oreo crumbles. Dessert fondues are served with a variety of fruits and sweets such as brownies and cakes.

    Strip House

    • The Strip House is steak restaurant located on the South Las Vegas Strip in the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. This establishment is not a fondue restaurant; however offers table-share starters, serving a gorgonzola fondue with garlic bread for dipping and the seafood plateau appetizer presented with an array of sauces. Menu items for cheese-lovers include an iceberg salad with Stilton blue cheese vinaigrette and potatoes Romanoff- a potato and cheddar cheese casserole.

      Fondue restaurants typically provide an option of sauces for guests to cook and flavor their main courses. The Strip House does not provide table side fondue sauce pots for cooking; yet does offer a variety of sauce options for entrees such as the NY strip steak, filet mignon, rib-eye, rack of lamb and seafood dishes. Sauce choices include bordelaise- a French red wine demi-glace, Stilton cheese- a blue cheese originating in England, sweet chili- a Thai flavoring and béarnaise- a French preparation made with butter, egg yolks and herbs.

    Swish

    • Swish is a shabu-shabu and sukiyaki restaurant located two miles west of the Las Vegas Strip in the Spring Valley area. Swish serves Japanese-style fondue entrees such as thinly sliced meats, vegetables and seafood with an array of table-top hot pot sauces for diners to marinate their food in.

      Shabu-shabu dishes are accompanied with mushrooms, noodles, rice and tofu. Table-top dipping options include raw egg, chili paste, sesame, citrus yuzu and spicy chili powder shichimi sauces.
