Dance Clubs in Augusta, Georgia

The city of Augusta lies on the Georgia/South Carolina border and has a population of 194,149. It is the birthplace of the legendary singer James Brown. The town was first populated by Native Americans in the early 1700s; they used it as a point for crossing the Savannah River. It was the second capital of Georgia from 1785 to 1795, alternating with Savannah. (The present capital is Atlanta.) Tourists can enjoy activities such as visiting the marina or a variety of shops and food vendors on Riverwalk, have a picnic by the lagoon and waterfall in Aqueduct Park or take a hike at the Phinizy Swamp Nature Park. Other attractions include the Augusta National Golf Club, the Augusta Canal and Diamond Lakes Regional Park.

    • The Soul Bar can be found in downtown Augusta and is open Monday through Saturday from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. The club has been providing entertainment for more than 10 years to adults 21 and older. It features a full-service bar with an extensive wine and beer list and a large dance floor. The walls also display a variety of art from local artists, and the paintings are always changing. DJs play a variety of sounds and offer special themed nights such as disco night. Live entertainment is also provided, featuring a combination of sounds including jazz, blues and rock and roll. Parking is free, and restaurants such as the Blue Sky Kitchen are within walking distance

    Sky City

    • Sky City in downtown Augusta is a live music venue that can hold 500 people and that features a full digital public address system, a large dance floor and special-effect lighting. Live rock bands perform on a regular basis, such as The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Lucero, Edwin McCain, Cage The Elephant,The Zac Brown Band, Turf War, 48 Volt and The Favors. Sky City is open to adults 21 and older and features a variety of concession areas offering snacks and sodas, as well as a full-service bar. Special themed nights are a regular occurrence, such as 80s night, featuring live DJ's.

    The Country Club

    • The Country Club is a dance hall and saloon located in downtown Augusta and has been providing live country music to the area since 2006. Famous acts such as Emerson Drive, Shenandoah, the Bellamy Brothers, Blackhawk, Tracy Lawrence, Ty Herndon and Rodney Atkins have all performed there. The Country Club is open Friday and Saturdays from 7 pm. to 2 a.m. and features a state-of-the-art sound system, a full-service bar, lighting and a large dance floor. Free line-dance lessons are taught every Friday and Saturday night from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday the Country Club is open only for concerts and special events.
