Cool Things to Do in Cleveland

The city of Cleveland, Ohio, has been growing steadily for the past few decades. New attractions have opened, and some of the existing attractions have been given a new look. Cleveland is becoming one of the models for success in the northern rust belt cities, and there are many cool things to do in Cleveland.

  1. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

    • In 1995 the eyes of the music world were focused on Cleveland, Ohio, as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame opened for business. Since then, the Hall of Fame has held gala induction concerts and ceremonies, hosted various up and coming bands in concert and given music fans a chance to see some of the artifacts and iconic images that have become a part of the legend of rock and roll. The Hall of Fame features interactive multimedia experiences, displays of equipment and other items from your favorite bands, and the chance to hear some of the music that has helped to keep rock alive for decades. Among the displays you may see include an actual tour bus used by country legend Johnny Cash, a guitar from the collection of Allman Brothers guitarist Dickey Betts and the outfit worn by Bruce Springsteen on the cover of the "Born to Run" album.

    Sports

    • The city of Cleveland is passionate about its professional sports teams, which makes going to a Cleveland sporting event a special experience. The Cleveland Browns are the city's National Football League team and one of the top entertainment tickets in the city. The fans are loud, and if you are lucky you can sit in the Dog Pound with fans dressed as dogs and barking at the opposition.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are the city's National Basketball Association franchise, and the Cavaliers are working to become contenders for the NBA title. The Cavaliers have been at the top of the NBA standings on a regular basis, and they are bringing in top-rated talent to keep the team competitive.

The Cleveland Indians are the Major League Baseball franchise in Cleveland, and their fans are simply known as the tribe. The Indians have seen success in their most recent history and the fans try to make every game an event.

    Waterfront

    • Cleveland is known for many things, but the beautiful waterfront in Cleveland does not always get the publicity it deserves. The city has developed the waterfront on Lake Erie into a beautiful family place complete with ice cream stands, places to swim, ski boat rentals, bicycle paths and plenty of parks where you can just walk around or sit to have a picnic. There is a public ferry service to take you to other parts of the waterfront, and there are designated areas for you to set your fishing pole and just watch the world go by for an afternoon.
