Mesquite, Nevada Tourism

Mesquite is located in southeastern Nevada, on the border with Arizona. In 2006, the town had a population of 14,799 people. It is a popular destination for retirees and is home to casinos and golf courses. It is located on Interstate 15 between Salt Lake City and Las Vegas.

  1. Mesquite Fine Arts Center and Gallery

    • The Mesquite Fine Arts Center and Gallery offers guests the opportunity to view art from local artists. It also provides local artists a place to work and take classes. Past exhibits include Summer artwork and Artist of the Month.

    Virgin Valley Museum

    • The Virgin Valley Museum celebrates the history and heritage of the area surrounding Mesquite. Among the items on display are old photographs, telephones, slot machines and quilts. There is also a self-guided walking tour that points out historical spots in the city.

    Golf

    • Mesquite is home to five golf courses. One of the most popular is Wolf Creek Golf Club, which was named by Affluent Golfer the "Most Spectacular New Course in America" in 2000. Also popular is the Oasis Golf Club, designed by Arnold Palmer.

    Casinos

    • There are four casinos in Mesquite that provide a variety of food, gambling and entertainment. The CasaBlanca Hotel also provides a golf course and spa for its guests.

    Weather

    • The weather in Mesquite is similar to Las Vegas. It enjoys sunshine most days. During the summer, the weather can get hot, often breaking 100 degrees Fahrenheit. But since Mesquite is located in the desert, nights are cool and temperatures even drop below freezing during winter months.
