How to Convert Points to Air Miles

Various retail businesses, such as banks, hotels and grocery stores, have loyalty programs that reward you with points for using their services. Some of these programs allow you to convert these reward points for air miles, which you can then use toward purchasing airplane tickets. Depending on the number of points you have, they can pay for part or all of your ticket price. You can usually only use the air miles to buy tickets from specific airline partners of the business that creates the loyalty program.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to the physical office, branch or store of the business that created the loyalty program. Otherwise, visit its website or contact it by phone. Give the staff the details of your loyalty program membership, for example your name and membership number. Ask them about the number of points you have accumulated in your account.

    • 2

Find the point conversion chart for your loyalty reward program on the business' website or brochure. Determine the number of air miles you have. Check whether you have enough points to purchase the tickets you want.

    • 3

Visit the website of the loyalty program, call them or visit their office, branch or store. Give the details of your loyalty program membership and the flight for which you want to buy tickets.
