Traveling is enough of a hassle without the added worry that your flight might end up delayed or cancelled due to weather or some other circumstance. Packing, checking luggage and standing in long security lines do not make for an enjoyable time, especially when you reach your gate only to find out your flight is delayed two hours. For your convenience, airlines now allow passengers to check the status of your flight schedule up to 24 hours prior to departure. If there is a delay or cancellation, you'll know about it before you even leave your house for the airport.

Visit your airline's website to check the status of your flight using their online flight status tool.

Provide information pertaining to your flight including your departure city, arrival city, departure date and flight number. Some airlines allow you to check your flight's status using your name and the confirmation number you received when you purchased your tickets.

View your flight status. From here you have the option of entering your mobile device number or email address, which enables your airline to email or text message updates regarding your flights to your mobile device.
