How to Find Out the Status of a Flight

With the growth of modern technology such as the ability to browse the internet from your cell phone or PDA, airlines have taken their flights to the internet. Now you can check the status of any flight, at any time, from your computer, cell phone or even a PDA. All airlines offer this feature, which is convenient, fast and easy to use. Most airlines even take it one step further and provide you the option of signing up for email alerts updating you on the status of your flight.

  Visit your airline's website. Locate the option to check the status of your flight, which is located in a different area on each airline's website.

  Click on the link to check the status of a flight. Enter your flight number, departure city, arrival city and/or departure date. Airlines only allow you to check the status of a flight within 24 hours of departure.

  View the results of your flight status. Provide your cell phone number and/or email address to receive text messages and/or email alerts updating you on the status of your flight until it has landed safely at its destination.
