JetBlue Airline Food Policy

JetBlue offers its passengers a variety of free snacks and beverages. Meals are available on certain flights and you can carry on your own food, but there are additional costs and restrictions.
  1. Complimentary Offerings

    • Passengers aboard a JetBlue aircraft have access to several brand-name snacks and are allowed to ask for seconds. The selection includes Terra Blues Chips, Doritos Munchies Mix and Linden's Chocolate Chippers. The cold beverages available include Coca-Cola, Sprite, tonic water and different juices such as tomato, cranberry and apple. JetBlue serves Dunkin' Donuts hot coffee and tea.

    Boxed Meals

    • JetBlue offers boxed meals for A320 flights lasting longer than three hours and 45 minutes. There are five different meals costing $6 each (as of 2010). These boxes contain prepackaged foods pulled together around a theme. For example, the "Cheer Up" box contains three different cheeses, dried fruit and crackers, and is intended to accompany wine.

    Specialty Beverages

    • Drinks with alcohol content including beer, wine and cocktails are available for $6 each (as of 2010).

    Kosher

    • Nearly all the complimentary snacks are kosher with the exception of Doritos Munchies Mix. The "Shape Up" box meal is kosher. During Passover, JetBlue offers substitute snacks in keeping with dietary needs.

    Carry-On Policy

    • JetBlue passengers are welcome to bring their own food onboard. However, any food items you plan to carry on that were not purchased at a secure boarding area must meet with the Transportation Security Administration's guidelines, and must be able to pass through the airport security checkpoint. Food items must be packaged or in a container, though unpeeled fruit is allowed without any container. No liquids are allowed past security with the exception of baby formula, breast milk and medicine, and these must be declared at the checkpoint.
