Get a copy of the cruise itinerary. It should include all the ports of call, how long shore excursions are expected to last and days at sea. Be sure you know the name of the ship. Keep an eye on the weather; weather conditions can change a cruise's itinerary. If you have any questions about changes in itinerary caused by weather, contact Carnival at (888) 227-6482.
Try email first. The easiest way to contact someone on a Carnival cruise is through email. Ships have Internet cafes and some have Wi-Fi access throughout the ship. However, Internet access is not free for Carnival passengers, so find out ahead of time whether the passenger will be accessing his email during the cruise.
Call the ship through Carnival. Have the ship's name and passenger's name in hand and call (877) 225-7447 from the United States or (732) 335-3284 from outside the U.S. Carnival will take care of making the connection so you don't have to worry about maritime codes.
Try to call the passenger's cell phone. Instead of calling someone directly on a Carnival ship, it's sometimes possible to call a cell phone. Many ports of call have cell phone reception, and it may be possible to make a connection while the ship is in port. Keep the itinerary handy so you'll know when you might be able to place the call.
