Carnival Cruise Lines has more than 20 ships in its fleet. These ships go to exciting and beautiful ports of call all around the world and offer a variety of itineraries, ranging from a few days at sea to weeks at a time.     • The Carnival Cruise Lines has been around since 1972. Ted Arison created the company with the hopes of providing a vacation experience to the average person. In the 1970s, cruises were only possible for the wealthy. He began with a single ship; many more have been added since then. There have also been several different classes of ships built, many offering more amenities than the previous ones. The Carnival Glory joined the Fun Ship fleet in 2003.

    • The Carnival Glory is one of the Carnival Conquest Class ships. It was the 2nd ship built in this class, the biggest at that time. The ship is 953 feet long and weighs 110,000 tons. It has 13 decks, a passenger capacity of 2,974 and requires a crew of 1,150. Carnival Glory took her maiden voyage from Port Canaveral, Florida, on July 19, 2003.

    Itinerary and Port Facts

    • There are nearly 20 different itineraries for the Carnival Glory. This includes 3 Eastern plus 3 Western 7-day Caribbean cruises, one 5-day and two 6-day Bahamas itineraries. There are also 2 of either 4-, 5-, 7- or 9-day Canada/New England cruises. It also has a "Cruise to Nowhere," a 2-day special cruise. Port Canaveral, Florida, is the chief departure port used by Carnival Glory, but other East Coast cities may be used at different times of the year.

    • Carnival Glory has a large number of amenities. They include age-divided children's programs, specially created for each age group. The restaurants offer a wide range of styles from fast food or snack type, up to fine dining and specialty restaurants. Other features include an Internet café, 22 lounges and bars, show rooms, extensive duty-free shops, 14,500-square-foot health club and spa, casino, jogging track, City Sports Park, 4 pool areas and a water slide.

    • Carnival Glory has more entertainment options and activities than previous ships in the fleet. The accommodations on Carnival Glory include nearly 1,500 spacious staterooms, all decorated with posh carpet and upscale décor. The majority of the rooms has either a secluded balcony or an ocean view. The staterooms have Carnival Comfort Bed sleep systems, meaning they offer lavish mattresses, comfy duvets, top-rated plush pillows and linens. Carnival Glory is painted in various vibrant colors that differ in each public area.
