How Can I Get a Metro Map of Los Angeles?

Since 1873, public transportation in Los Angeles County has been served by at least 220 private and public transit companies using horse cars, cable cars, incline railways, steam trains, electric streetcars, interurban cars, trolley buses, and gas and diesel buses. Created in 1993, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) operates regular and rapid bus lines, and five rail lines. In 2009, Metro was ranked as the third-largest transit agency in terms of passenger trips and miles, according to the American Public Transportation Association.       Visit the Metro website and download maps. The "maps and timetables" page of Metro's website has bus and rail system maps,and maps for individual Metro line and station maps. Printable maps can be downloaded in PDF or GIF formats.

      Call the Metro customer information telephone number and request paper versions of maps. Call 323-GO-METRO (323-466-3876) and request maps from a customer information agent. Users may be directed to visit Metro's website to download and print maps.

      Visit the Metro headquarters building and request or pick up a map in person. Metro headquarters is located at One Gateway Plaza on the corner of Cesar E. Chavez Avenue and Vignes Street. Maps may also be available at a Metro subway or light rail station.
