Inspect the tires if the trailer wobbles when towed. Check for bulging, cracking, and uneven tread wear. Check and adjust the tire pressure when cold. Do not add or release air when the tires are hot. Replace the tires if they are worn or damaged in any way. Use tires that are rated to RV use only.
Inspect all cables and cable attachments before traveling. A broken cable or attachment is one of the most common reasons the roof won't raise.
Ensure that the area you choose to park and set up your Jayco trailer is flat and level. Allow for space to accommodate the slide out and awnings. Check for overhanging branches that could fall and damage the trailer. Ensure that the wheels are securely blocked before opening out the camper.
Check the Jayco trailer's circuit breaker panel for tripped breakers if there is no electrical power in the unit. If a circuit breaker trips, turn off any connected appliances such as the air conditioner or microwave, and allow a short cooling period before resetting the circuit breaker. To reset the breaker, move the appropriate switch to the "Off" position, and then back "On." If the breaker continually trips, contact your Jayco dealer to investigate further. Have the circuit breakers replaced if needed.
Turn off all the propane gas appliances if the propane alarm keeps sounding at regular intervals. These include the stove, water heater, and furnace. Turn the valve off at the propane tank. Open all the windows and roof vents. Do not touch any electrical switches or attempt to use a phone or radio in the camper. Do not start the engine or generator. Once you have vented the camper, contact your Jayco dealer to determine the source of the leak and remedy the problem. Do not use your propane system until the leak has been repaired.
Sanitize your fresh water sytem periodically to prevent odors and the growth of bacteria that could contaminate the water supply. Replace the water filter cartridge at least once a year, or when the water flow is too slow. Drain the fresh water system. Position a bucket, or container, beneath the water cartridge filter to contain any spillage. Unscrew the fittings at the top and bottom of the cartridge. Remove the filter cartridge by pulling it down and out of the fittings. Insert the new filter cartridge and tight the fitting securely by hand.
