How to Attach a Hose to My RV Sink

RV sinks supply fresh potable water from a water-holding tank through the functions of a water pump. This supplies water on demand in the same manner as a house but on a smaller scale. Attaching a hose to an RV sink allows water from the tank to be transported to a more remote location than directly in the sink. The use of a faucet adapter allows a garden hose to connect to a faucet.

Instructions

    • 1

Place a washcloth on the faucet aerator at the bottom of the faucet where water exits into the sink.

    • 2

Place adjustable pliers on the faucet aerator and turn it counterclockwise to loosen.

    • 3

Pull the aerator straight down to detach it from the faucet.

    • 4

Turn the aerator upside down and make certain that the screen and rubber washer are inside the tip.

    • 5

Place a small piece of tape over the opening in the aerator to hold the washer and screen in place. Set the aerator aside.

    • 6

Hold the faucet adapter up to the end of the faucet and screw it on in the aerator's position. Turn the adapter clockwise and tighten it completely.

    • 7

Screw a garden hose onto the adapter in the same manner as an outside water faucet. Turn the hose clockwise to tighten fully on the RV sink. The hose has a female end that fits onto the threads of the faucet adapter's male fitting.

    • 8

Turn the RV sink on and direct the loose end of the hose at any area to obtain water.
