One of the premier draws to Fort St. John is fishing at Charlie Lake. Located just six miles north of downtown Fort St. John, the Ross H. Maclean Rotary RV Park puts you right at the lake. The park has an adjacent boat launch, baseball diamonds and is within walking distance of a gas station and a grocery store.
There are 68 graveled spaces and 28 of these are pull-thrus. All have 30 amp electrical hook-ups, 58 have water and ten also have sewer. The pull-thru sites are 100 feet long and can handle the largest RV and towed vehicle combinations. The back-ins are 55 feet long. All spaces are wide enough for slide outs. Pets are welcome.
Park amenities include showers, restroom, dump station, laundry room and a library. There is also a playground for kids and nature trails to explore. Firewood is available for sale on site.

Beatton Provincial Park is open year round but its RV park is seasonal, from May to September, depending on the weather. The park offers 37 graveled spaces, all back-ins, and all are 30 feet long. This means that larger Class A rigs and some fifth-wheel rigs won't fit. This is "boondocking" RV camping, meaning no hook-ups. The roads leading to the campsites are paved and the campsites are accessible by the physically challenged. The park has non-flush toilets and firewood available. Recreational activities include a childrens' playground, horseshoe pits and swimming and fishing at the lake. There is a boat ramp available. Hiking trails criss-cross the park and around the lake. The maximum stay at Beatton Provincial Park is 14 days. Beatton Provincial Park is eight miles northwest of downtown Fort. St. John.
