How to Compare RV Manufacturers

There are approximately 140 manufacturers of recreational vehicles in the United States, producing motor homes, conventional travel trailers, fifth-wheel trailers, truck campers, sport utility RVs, expandable travel trailers and folding camping trailers. Attending an RV retail show is one of the best ways to compare RVs and RV manufacturers. The Go RVing coalition, a collection of manufacturers, component suppliers, dealers and campgrounds, has a website with the most comprehensive list of shows.

Instructions

    • 1

      Navigate to www.GoRVing.com.

    • 2

In the right-hand column of the main page you will see the link "Find an RV Show." Click on it and select the month and state. The website will provide you with the appropriate results.

    • 3

Attend the show and look over the fleets. You will see many floor plans and features. Get an idea about what might best suit your needs and make a note of the manufacturers that have RVs you like.

    • 4

Revisit www.GoRVing.com, only this time click on "Find an RV Manufacturer" in the same column you used before. Enter the RV manufacturer's name in the "Company name" text box. The site will deliver the company's website and provide you with a list of vehicles it manufactures. Browse the websites for the manufacturers you are interested in and compare them.
