How to Convert an AM/FM Radio to Aircraft

Small aircraft use two-way radios for communication between other aircraft and the various ground traffic communications centers. These radios are crucial to the safe operation of the aircraft. If you are a pilot or travel in small aircraft for long distances, chances are high you want some "in-flight" entertainment in the form of music. AM/FM radio use is difficult, while in the air, due to the rapid speed the aircraft covers, changing the reception and its strength. However, if you want some radio access, use an adapter cord designed to direct the radio broadcasts into the headphones.
