Visit the Eurostar website to determine whether the company serves the locations you are interested in. In late 2010, Eurostar services London, Paris and Brussels, with connections to many nearby cities.

Select your service class. Eurostar offers three classes of service. Standard service is the most affordable and includes no food. Standard Premier offers more spacious seats and a light meal. Business Premier is the most expensive and includes perks, such as a fast-track check-in procedure and a full meal.

Book your Eurostar ticket by visiting the Eurostar website, going in person to the Eurostar ticket counter at your departure station or contacting a customer service representative by telephone. From inside the United Kingdom, Eurostar can be reached at 08432-186-186; from outside the UK at +44 1233-617-575.

Familiarize yourself with Eurostar's baggage policies. Passengers are permitted two medium-size carry-on bags (no more than 85 cm on their longest side) and a small handbag. Additional luggage or bags larger than 85 cm may incur a fee.

    • 5

Collect your ticket. You can print it out at home, pick it up at the in-station Eurostar ticket counter, or use one of the electronic kiosks located near the ticket counter.

    • 6

Arrive at the appropriate station well before your train departure, check the departures board to identify your departure platform and proceed to the platform. At the entrance to the platform, you will encounter electronic barriers; insert your ticket into the barrier to check in. Eurostar requires check-ins at least 30 minutes prior to departure, but passengers needing to retrieve their tickets or those who are unfamiliar with their departure station may want to arrive 90 minutes early.
