Train Tours in Michigan

Michigan train tours allow people to enjoy and learn about various aspects of the state's history, including its industrial past and natural beauty. Train tours range from trips along abandoned railways in antique cars to explorations of working industrial areas, such as the Soo Locks on Lake Superior. Theme trains for holidays are common and fall foliage-viewing tours are available on most railway trips in the state.

    Coopersville & Marne Railway Company

    • The Coopersville & Marne Railway Co. runs tours on antique railway cars on a railroad that was originally built in 1848. The tour runs between two towns and includes local sightseeing. An unusual feature of this tour is the decoupling of the engine from the train to turn it around. Many passengers disembark to watch this process. Theme train tours run during major holidays and in the fall season, foliage-viewing tours are available. Rides are also available in the cab of the engine; however, only two spots per tour are available, so reserve your space ahead of time.
