Replace the battery at the first sign of electrical malfunction. Use the socket wrench on the base bolts on the underside of the seat. Pull the seat up and away from the scooter firmly. Use the adjustable wrench to disconnect the power contacts on the battery. Remove the battery and replace with a new one. Reattach the connectors and turn the scooter on to test the electronics.
Replace fuses if the electrical system is still faulty. In the circular fuse bay next to the battery bay remove the plastic cover. Firmly grip each fuse and pull outward one at a time. After removing each fuse, replace with a new identical fuse. Replace the fuse bay cover and attempt once again to test all electrical components of the bike.
Tighten the braking mechanism at the first sign of degradation in response. Use the adjustable wrench to loosen the back brake-line restricting bolt (this bolt will appear at the mid-base of the back wheel). Pull the left brake lever back about 1 inch, then while holding the lever down, tighten the bolt once again to recalibrate the braking system.
Replace tires when they show signs of wear and tear, or low tread. The Honda Ruckus does not come with a spare, so the replacement of worn tires is paramount. Use the socket to loosen the bolts holding the tire in place. Remove the tire, but pull it straight out of the housing, and then replace with a new tire. Tighten the bolts back into place, with as much tension as possible, and then ride normally.
