Put the motorcycle in gear on a level, flat surface and turn the motor off.
Use an Allen or Torx wrench to remove the clutch assembly on the left handlegrip side. This is the metal portion directly beyond the handlebar grip. Move the upper and lower housing away from the handlebar grip area.
Place a magnetic dish on the gas tank to hold the pieces. Otherwise, place them on a cloth to prevent them from rolling.
Remove the left grip carefully with a utility or other sharp knife blade. Tear away the grip after cutting it or use a flat head screwdriver or butter knife to loosen it.
Clean the residue off the remaining metal with fine-grit sandpaper. Use a cloth to wipe it off. This will enable the new grip to adhere better.
Spread a few drops of adhesive inside the new grip.
Rotate the new grip as you slide it into place. It must be in line with the channels on the housing.
Squeeze the new grip firmly with your hand. Hold it there for several seconds to allow the adhesive to bond.
Replace the clutch assembly and tighten the bolts and screws well.
Repeat the method on the right side.
