Slide the InfoKey Controller into the docking station on the LeanSteer frame by pushing it forward toward the handlebars. You will use the InfoKey Controller to turn on the Segway PT and adjust the balance mode.
Turn on the Segway PT. Press the button on the bottom-left of the InfoKey Controller to turn on the power. Segway recommends that all new users of a Segway PT operate the transporter in "Beginner" mode. Put the device in "Beginner" mode by pushing the button on the top-left side of the controller.
Stand on the Segway PT. Wait for the green balance light in the center of the Segway foot mats to light. With the Segway PT at rest and the LeanSteer frame in front of you, grasp the handlebars with both hands and stand on the foot Mats without leaning.
Operate the Segway PT. Carefully lean forward to move the device forward. Lean backward to stop the transporter and then continue leaning back to go in reverse. With your feet firmly placed on the mats move the LeanSteer frame in fluid motions in the direction that you want to turn by leaning the handlebars.
Exit the Segway. Bring the transporter back to balance, as indicated by the green balance light, and take one foot off of the machine at a time without favoring any direction. Keep holding the handlebars to prevent the Segway from moving as you step off.
Turn the transporter off by pushing the power button and holding it until it powers off.
