Log onto a computer that has online capabilities. Go to the Department of Motor Vehicles website for the state in which you reside.
Click on the link to the side or top of the page that brings you to the custom plates section of the website. A custom motorbike number plate can be created if certain rules and regulations are met. For most states, custom motorcycle plates are only created if the rider belongs to a certain organization, such as the Blue Knights.
Select the plate that fits the organization you belong to. Type in the desired numbers to go on the plate.
Enter the required information needed to obtain the plate, such as the membership identification number, name, address and driver's license number.
Fill out the payment information necessary to purchase the custom plate number. Enter the billing address and credit card information. Click on the "Submit" button once all of the information has been entered. Wait about four weeks for the custom plates to arrive.
Find a motorbike custom plate designer and maker using the Internet. There are a variety of websites that offer custom number plates for under $20.
Select the plate design, which can be of different color combinations. For example, the plate color can be yellow, while the numbers embossed or printed are blue. Use colors that contrast each other for maximum visibility. For example, do not choose purple numbers to be placed on a black plate.
Enter five or less desired numbers to go on the plate.
Fill out the shipping and billing information on the website. The plates should arrive between two and four weeks depending on if the plates are printed or embossed. Numbers printed on to plates is generally cheaper than embossing the plates with two separate colors.
