Detach both electrical leads from the horn. Verify the vehicle's ignition is turned on for supplying power to the loose leads.
Attach a test light to one of the horn's leads. Confirm if the light illuminates. Attach the test light to the other horn lead wire if the light does not illuminate. Move the wire lead, called the constant power wire, which illuminates the test light to the side.
Attach a 3-prong toggle switch to the horn's negative, or ground wire lead using electrical wire. Connect the second switch prong to the vehicle's ground wire. Attach the third prong to the air shifter's blue ground lead.
Connect the air shifter's positive electrical wire lead to the constant power wire.
Toggle the switch from horn to air shifter. Test the air shifter's functions. Confirm the wires are not loose or dangling, which may cause possible electrical shorts and failure.
Repeat steps 1 and 2. Neither wire should illuminate the test light. Press the horn button down and test each electrical wire again. The test light should illuminate on one of the leads while the horn button is pressed.
Connect the toggle switch in the same manner as step 3; however, the vehicle's ground wire must have an electrical relay placed between the switch and the vehicle's ground wiring for activating the circuit. Attach the 12-volt relay to the second prong and to the vehicle's ground wiring.
Test the air shifter's functions.
