Navigate to the North Carolina State Parks web page that allows you to search parks by activity or location.
Select your preferences for the location of your desired camping site. To select a preference, click the box to the left of your desired location. After clicked, a check mark will appear. View the map to the right of the region choices for clarification of location boundaries.
Choose the type of camping site in North Carolina state parks that you prefer. Your choices include drive-to tent campsites, trailer or RV campsites, backpack campsites, canoe-in campsites, group campsites or a cabin. To select a preference, click the box to the left of your desired type of campsite. You may select more than one option.
Select your preferred amenities. Your choices include showers, a dump station and access to electric and water hook-ups. To select a preference, click the box to the left of your desired choice. You may choose only one option or all three depending on your preference.
Select the types of trails, recreational and educational activities you desire your campsite to be near. To select the activity, click the box next to the activity of choice. A check mark will confirm your selection. Trail types vary from those suitable for horses, bicycles and hikers. Recreational activities include access to areas for rock climbing, fishing, picnicking or swimming. You may also choose to be near a marina and boat rental. Educational options include proximity to visitor centers, historic sites and exhibit halls.
Click the "Search" button to view North Carolina campsites which meet your criteria. If you are unsatisfied with your choices, you may use the browser's "back" button to change your camping site criteria.
Navigate to the North Carolina state park reservations page, which is created and run by the North Carolina Division of Parks and Recreation.
Select the North Carolina state park you wish to make reservations at. To do this, use the drop-down menu next to the word "Parks." Click the button labeled "Go."
Enter your preferred arrival date and number of days you wish to stay. Click the button labeled "Quick Check." At this point, the availability for your date will appear next to the different facility types offered at this North Carolina state park. Click the hyperlink entitled "Go >>" next to the type of facility you wish to book.
Select the specific campground at the state park you wish to stay at using the drop-down menu. Click the hyperlink labeled "More Info" next to the campground for further information. Some North Carolina state parks will have only one campground, some will have many options. Verify your date, the number of nights you will be staying and the type of facility you desire. Choose the number of people who will be staying and click the button labeled "Check Availability."
Select the campsite you wish to reserve. To do this, click the box to the right of the description and then the button labeled "Add to Cart."
Log in or register to pay for your selected North Carolina state park campsite. If you have registered before, type in your information. If you have not select the hyperlink, "First Time Web User" to proceed.
Fill in personal information and desired login information in the secure form to register. Click the "Register" button to proceed.
Verify the campsite price and enter the responsible party's name and car type to continue. Click "Next" at the completion of each step.
Enter your Visa or Mastercard information into the secure form.
Record confirmation information and plan to enjoy your camping trip in the North Carolina state park you personally selected.
