Choose the area where you want to camp. The majority of RV parks are in the southern portion of the state, but several are in the central and northern sections as well. Ones in the south tend to be closer, if not on, the beach.
Decide whether you'd prefer to stay in a state park or a private campground. Five state parks offer RV campsites. State parks in Delaware tend to be less commercialized and offer fewer amenities compared to privately owned campgrounds. State parks also offer discounted rates to Delaware residents.
Plan the length of your stay. Some RV parks only offer seasonal sites, with no overnight available. Other locations offer weekly and monthly rates that may save you money if choosing to camp for a long period of time.
Make reservations at your chosen site to ensure you have a spot. Some parks may require a deposit; others just require you give them your name and length of stay.
Plan your route to get to the RV park. Interstate 95 is the only main highway in the state, and only covers a small portion in the north. The rest of the state is accessible through a system of state and local roads.
