Oregon has seven types of state parks, most with some type of facilities for either picnicking or camping. State Parks and State Recreation Areas are the only parks offering full RV hookups, the other park options offer either day-use only or tent/primitive camping. The seven types of parks are: State Parks, State Trails, State Recreation Areas, State Natural Areas, State Waysides, State Scenic Viewpoints and State Heritage Sites. Silver Falls State Park, located near the Cascade Mountains 26 miles East of Salem, OR, offers several nature trails where you can see local flora and fauna as well as 10 amazing waterfalls. It is Oregon's largest state park. They allow RV camping and are pet friendly, but call ahead to reserve your camping space. The park is open year-round, but hours vary during the summer and winter months. They offer full hookups for RVs, a nearby dump station, picnic facilities and playgrounds as well as on-site showers and bathrooms.

Beachside State Recreation Site is located on the central coast of Oregon, offering visitors beach access as well as whale watching and other water activities. Nearby there are lighthouses, aquariums, and hiking trails. The park is pet friendly, but it only open from March 15 through October. There are 32 RV sites with electrical hookups, picnic tables and fire rings at each site as well as on-site shower and bathrooms.

Memaloose State Park is open from mid-March through October and offers RVers lots of fun in the sun. Located near the Columbia River Gorge, summer temperatures can top 100 degrees. At night you will see a sky filled with shooting stars and constellations and enjoy cooler temperatures. There are 44 full hookups with picnic areas and fire rings at each site. There are on-site showers and bathrooms as well.

Near the Oregon and California borders lies the wildlife area of Goose Lake State Recreation Area. This area has a lot to offer wildlife lovers: you can bird-watch, see herds of mule deer or walk around the grassy sites. This is a seasonal park and campsites are first come, first served. They have 48 RV sites with electrical hookups, fire ring and picnic areas. They also offer on-site showers and bathrooms and a primitive boat ramp for anglers.

Devils Lake State Recreation Area offers campers a variety of water and land adventures including kayaking, and access to a local outlet mall because the lake is actually the center of thriving Lincoln City. They offer kayak lake tours, boating and personal watercraft activities as well. There are 28 full RV hookups, 5 with cable access. There are also on-site showers and bathrooms as well as picnic areas. The park is open year-round.
