Although there are many public-use areas around the Bonneville Salt Flats that allow camping, you cannot camp on the salt flats themselves. Most tourists come to the salt flats for a day trip or special event and then leave. Most campgrounds are 25 miles or more from the salt flats so you need to plan your visit carefully, and call ahead to make sure there are accommodations available.
This KOA campground offers mountain views and is only a 10-mile drive from the salt flats, and it is the nearest full-service campground. Fishing, hiking and scuba diving are offered in the surrounding area, and the campground is close to the casinos in Wendover, Nevada, and wild mustangs in the Nevada wilderness areas.
The KOA is open year-round and has a seasonal outdoor pool, mini-golf and a grocery/souvenir shop on site. There also are laundry facilities.

The Beverly Hills RV Ranch is located in Wells, Nevada, and has 44 RV sites with full hookups. The sites are spacious with room for all types of slide-outs and views of the high desert.
On-site restrooms and showers are available as well as hiking and fishing activities at nearby Angel Lake. There is no Wi-Fi, but cellular service is good.
The park is open from April 1 through Oct. 1, but management prefers check ins during the day. Wells, Nevada, is about 70 miles from the Bonneville Salt Flats.
