RV Parks in Colorado State Parks

Colorado State Parks are popular vacation destinations for residents and visitors of the state. Colorado's 42 state parks attract 11 million annual visitors, according to the Colorado Department of Natural Resources. The parks' recreation opportunities include canoeing and kayaking, boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, biking and camping. Some state park campgrounds offer RV campers modern facilities, hookups and dump stations, while leaving rustic campsites available for tent campers.
  1. Boyd Lake State Park

    • Boyd Lake State Park is located in north central Colorado, near the city of Loveland. The park offer 148 RV paved, pull-through campsites that accommodate campers, pop-up trailers and motorhomes up to 40 feet long. All sites are equipped with electrical hookups, a picnic table and grill. The campground is on a grassy area with some trees, though most campsites are not shaded. Campground amenities include modern bathrooms, showers, playgrounds, horseshoe pits and an RV dump station. Boyd Lake State Park attracts boaters, fishermen, hunters, hikers, bikers and swimmers. The park also hosts music concerts throughout the summer season.

    John Martin Reservoir State Park's Hasty Lake Campground

    • John Martin Reservoir is a water- and wildlife-lover's state park located in southeast Colorado. Hasty Lake Campground has 109 campsites to accommodate RVs of any size. Back-in sites are 60 feet long, and pull-through sites are 120 feet long. Each site has 20-, 30- and 50-amp electrical hookups. The campground's other amenities include potable water hydrants, laundry facilities, modern bathrooms, coin showers, a fish-cleaning station, a playground and an RV dump station. The campground is open year-round, though flush toilets are shut off during the winter.

    Vega State Park's Early Settler's, Aspen Grove and Oak Point Campgrounds

    • Vega State Park is located in west central Colorado in Grand Mesa National Forest. The park's Early Settler's Campground has 33 RV campsites, including both pull-through and back-in sites. Hookups include water and electrical. Other campground amenities include modern toilets and coin showers. Aspen Grove Campground has 27 pull-through and back-in RV campsites. Hookups are not available at Aspen Grove, but vault toilets and water pumps are centrally located in the park. Oak Point Campground has 39 pull-through and back-in campsites with no hookups. Vault toilets and water pumps are available. An RV dump station is located near Vega State Park's Visitors Center. All campsites are open from the spring through fall seasons, and a few sites are open year-round.
