RV Camping in Hochatown, Oklahoma

Hochatown is located off of U.S. Route 259. The original town was forced to re-locate in the 1960s when the Army Corps of Engineers created Broken Bow Lake. Today, two state parks cross into the borders of the town and many vacationers come to the area enjoy nature while camping. RV campsites are located in both of the state parks and provide Hochatown's only option for this type of camping.
  1. Locations

    • RV camping in Hochatown is permitted at Beavers Bend State Park and Hochatown State Park. The parks are adjacent to one another. A total of 393 campsites are available at the parks. Hochatown State Park is accessible by driving four miles past the entrance to Beavers Bend State Park. Beavers Bend is located on Highway 259A, which is eight miles from the city of Broken Bow.

    Amenities

    • All RV sites include water and sewer hookups. Pull-through sites are available. Visitors to one park have access to the facilities of the other. Campers will find a camp store, concession stand, meeting space, gift shop, restaurant, outdoor grills, picnic areas, restrooms and hot showers.

    Recreation Opportunities

    • There are numerous recreation opportunities in which RV campers at both parks can participate. The parks include hiking trails, a marina, swim beach, playground, tennis courts, golf course and bike trails. Canoes, kayaks, jet skis, paddle boats, ski boats, inner tubes and pontoon boats are all available for rent. A nature center staffed with a naturalist is open to park visitors and children's programs are frequently scheduled. On-site, anglers will find two catch-and-release areas for trout.

    Considerations

    • Reservations are strongly suggested for RV sites, especially on weekends when sites tend to fill up quickly. You can reserve an RV site through the website of Oklahoma State Parks or by calling the parks. If you want to bring your pet, you must keep it on a leash at all times.

    Nearby Attractions/Amenities

    • There are many attractions and amenities in the area around the parks. Frontier General Store and Lakeway Bait and Tackle provide gas, bait and groceries just minutes from the parks. If you need a break from cooking, Stevens Gap Restaurant, Shady Oaks Restaurant and Beavers Bend Restaurant are convenient. For day trips, consider the Muscle Car Legends Museum, Hochatown Wildlife Museum and Broken Bow Indian Museum.
