Tent Cabins in Yosemite

Experiencing the grandeur of Yosemite National Park from a tent cabin offers the visitor a way to connect with nature without pitching a tent. Tent cabins have wood floors and a canvas roof and walls, with nearby shared bathrooms. Yosemite National Park offers several options for visitors who seek rustic accommodations -- either in the famed Yosemite Valley or in the lesser visited high country areas of the park.
  1. Curry Village

    • Curry Village is in the heart of Yosemite Valley and offers tent cabins year-round. Two types of units are available; 319 with cots and linens that accommodate two to five people, and 91 Signature Tent Cabins that feature more insulation to keep guests warmer in the winter months. Curry Village lies almost directly below Glacier Point and Half Dome, two iconic symbols of Yosemite, and offers direct access to a gift and grocery store, restaurant and swimming pool.

    Housekeeping Camp

    • Housekeeping Camp is a short distance from Curry Village in Yosemite Valley and has 266 spots available April through October. Housekeeping Camp lies along the Merced River, with many units right on the river beaches; the Camp also includes a camp store and showers. Each unit can accommodate up to six people. Linens and housekeeping service are not provided.

These tent cabins are close to Yosemite Village and are centrally located for those who plan to explore classic Yosemite Valley trails such as Yosemite Falls, Nevada Falls, Half Dome and Glacier Point.

    White Wolf Lodge

    • A more peaceful Yosemite experience can be found in the White Wolf Lodge tent cabins. This quiet, but stunning part of the park doesn’t attract the crowds like Yosemite Valley; but visitors still experience the splendor of the park with close access to many day hikes. The White Wolf Lodge typically opens in July and closes in early September. White Wolf Lodge offers 24 tent cabins, each of which accommodates four people. Tent cabins include beds, linens and a wood burning stove; there is no electricity.

    Tuolumne Meadows

    • Located in Tuolumne Meadows, closest to the Tioga Pass entrance on the eastern edge of the park, Tuolumne Meadows Lodge offers 69 tent cabins that are open from approximately July to mid September. The tent cabins in Tuolumne Meadows Lodge are outfitted with beds and linens for four people, wood stoves and candles for light. Tuolumne Meadows is the largest sub-alpine meadow in the Sierra Nevada and an area of Yosemite that attracts those seeking more rigorous adventures in the park.

    High Sierra

    • The most remote of all Yosemite’s tent cabins are the five High Sierra spots sprinkled in the backcountry of the park. Available for a short amount of time in the summer months, these tent cabins can only be reserved through a lottery application. The secluded tent cabins are accessible only by foot or horseback, and once visitors arrive, they are treated to a full family style dinner and breakfast right in their tents, making for the ultimate backcountry experience.
