Just about an hour outside of Minneapolis, and sandwiched between two lakes, Maple Hill Resort features cabins, townhomes, cottages and a lodge --- all overlooking either the massive Clearwater Lake or much smaller, but still beautiful, Grass Lake. The smallest rental units feature at least two bedrooms and can comfortably fit six guests, and the largest units can sleep up to 18. Each of the rental units contains a fully equipped kitchen, including a refrigerator and microwave, and a large deck that faces one of the lakes; most of the cabins and cottages also feature fireplaces. Boating, fishing and swimming are the most popular activities at Maple Hill Resort, and the resort offers boat and pontoon rentals. The 3,196-square-foot Clearwater Lake contains a number of sport fish, including Northern pike, walleye, crappie, bluegill and, most notably, largemouth and smallmouth bass. Most of the rentals at Maple Hill are privately owned, and the rates often vary. However, the cheapest cottages start at just $125 per night as of 2010.
