Adirondack Log Cabin Rentals

The Adirondack Mountains of northeastern New York are home to the 6-million-acre Adirondack Park and dozens of resort communities and vacation destinations. Rife with streams, rivers and lakes, these mountains are a canoeist's or kayaker's dream and have no shortage of outlets for the avid fisherman. Some of the regional haunts have familiar names, such as Lake Placid and Lake George; others are relatively unknown but attract birdwatchers and hunters, hikers and skiers, ice climbers and folks who just want to relax on the porch of a log cabin, beverage in hand, and listen to the call of the loons.

  1. Sheltered Lakes

    • This property is on 400 acres of forest with trails and a private lakefront. Six log cabins practically step out into the lake, which is only 15 feet from their doors, and patios and porches have unobstructed views of the mountains. Each cabin is decorated with an eclectic assortment of furniture appropriate to the mood: cabin-y. All have kitchens and bedrooms separated from a common living area, fireplaces, and outdoor table and furniture. These are housekeeping cabins, and guests must bring their own linens, food, and charcoal for the grill.
