Many people prefer to bring their pet with them when they travel. The challenge is finding accommodations where your pet is also welcome. There are many pet-friendly choices in the area near Walt Disney World. Walt Disney World also offers kennel services near the parks; overnight boarding is available.
The only accommodation on the Walt Disney World property that allows pets is Fort Wilderness Resorts. This is the Disney campground, and only certain sites are for pets so make sure that you mention your pet when making your reservation. Pets are allowed only in recreational vehicles with air conditioning. Your dog can enjoy an off-the-leash park and there are leashed pet trails. Those staying at Fort Wilderness Resorts also enjoy the perks of staying on WDW property, including extra hours in the parks and free on-site transportation. Fort Wilderness also holds a nightly campfire and sing-along.

Unlike Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando allows pets in its hotels. Three themed hotel choices are available at Universal Orlando: Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel and Royal Pacific Resort. Universal limits the number of pets to two per room, and charges a cleaning fee. Guests at the Universal Orlando hotels enjoy line skipping privileges at Universal Studios Florida and Universal's Islands of Adventure theme parks.

Many La Quinta Inns are pet friendly, and those in the Orlando area are no exception. The La Quinta Inn Orlando International Drive is the closest to Walt Disney World, and it has the designation of being a "Walt Disney World Good Neighbor Hotel".
