Storrs, Connecticut is notable for being the home of the main campus of The University of Connecticut (UCONN). It was founded as a farming college in 1881, but has since morphed into a world-class university and Big East basketball powerhouse. With its increased profile, Storrs has been improved greatly, with additional hotels, restaurants and attractions opening adjacent to campus. Technically, Storrs is part of Mansfield, Connecticut, which is located in Tolland County.
Actually situated on campus, the Nathan Hale Inn features a conference center in addition to its 100 rooms. Attached to the inn are two restaurants, the Blue Oak Restaurant and the True Blue Tavern. Other amenities include an exercise room, indoor heated pool and a business center.

The Altnaveigh Inn and Restaurant is also option found on Route 195 in Storrs. The Altnaveigh has a total of two rooms, so it’s really a restaurant with rooms rather than an inn with a restaurant. Because of this, it has few of the amenities that the larger hotels offer. But unlike a typical bed and breakfast (which the Altnaveigh is, for all intents and purposes), breakfast is not included as part of the rate.

Although technically outside of Storrs (located in neighboring Willington), the Rodeway Inn features a meeting space, exercise facilities and free breakfast. It contains meeting facilities, and the hotel has a total of 61 rooms. One unique feature of the inn is that the Rodeway Inn’s Website lists it as pet friendly (which may or may not have any connection with UCONN’s mascot, Jonathan the Husky). The Rodeway Inn is part of the Choice Hotels International group.
