Turtle Hill is the largest of the cottages on the property, with five bedrooms and three and a half baths. It sleeps 12 and, like the other cottages, is available daily, weekly or monthly. This very kid-friendly cottage offers a Butterfly Princess room, complete with crown. Downstairs is the main Maine room, an area full of local memorabilia that children are welcome to play with and enjoy. Each cabin is fully stocked with linens and kitchen accoutrement. The Turtle Hill kitchen features gourmet pots and a marble sink. Enjoy the two fireplaces and fresh fruit or home baked goodies, courtesy of Linda and Syl.
This cottage was built before there were restrictions to build too close to the lake. Designed with the beach in mind, the cottage offers an indoor sand box and picnic bench which opens to the beach. Enjoy the morning with a cup of coffee on the private deck off of the main bedroom--one of the many tiered decks attached to the cottage. To cater the inner artist, an easel and art supplies are ready for use. Paddle around the lake in a canoe, dinghy or row boat. Warm up by the wood-burning fireplace. The Victorian Jewel, like the other cottages, offers a washer and dryer for guest use.
Nestled in the woods at the edge of a clearing is The Well House. Designed to sleep four, it offers a main bedroom and a loft with two beds. Staying in this cottage is like camping, only in luxury. Find a fire pit out doors and have fun roasting the marshmallows provided in the kitchen. A short walk down the nearby path leads to the lake and a chance to see otters and eagles. This cottage is warm and welcoming, making guests feel special and wanted in its charming woodsy atmosphere.
You do not have to be on a honeymoon to enjoy this cottage. Similar to the Well House, this cottage offers a bedroom downstairs and a loft upstairs. The native stone fireplace is the focal point of the main room, along with an indoor hammock and comfy sofa. The outdoors is celebrated in the decor of the cottage, which makes use of natural woods and botanical artwork. Have some fun and play ping-pong on the table in the downstairs great room. It is also close to the lake and available watercraft.
Named in honor of the Cedar Waxwings that flock to the area every year, The Nest is one of two available apartments. Homey, upscale touches make this an ideal location for those needing a place to stay while working in the area, or for someone who wants something smaller than the other cottages. It has hardwood floors and a private balcony to enjoy. As with the other cottages, it is close to the lake and watercraft. Those who want to explore a bit more will find the Audubon Nature Center nearby, as well as sights such as the Penobscot Bridge.
