White Mountain Cabins in Fairbanks, Alaska

Fairbanks is in the heart of eastern central Alaska, and it is less than 20 minutes away from hiking and mountain climbing activities in the White Mountains. The log cabins in Fairbanks and the White Mountains are close to the hiking trails, as well as fishing and kayaking opportunities on the Chena River. During the winter, vacationers can take advantage of cross-country skiing trails at the Birch Hill Recreation Area.

    • The Trailhead Cabins are in the heart of the White Mountains, approximately 45 minutes from the town center of Fairbanks. The cabins at this resort are secluded from one another. Haystack Mountain is within walking distance of the cabins, and it features trails for hiking during the summer months and cross-country skiing in the winter. The cabins are less than 15 minutes from fishing and kayaking opportunities in the Chatanika River. Each cabin is a one-room unit with a microwave, bunk bed, refrigerator and dining table. All the cabins are nonsmoking.

    Riverbend Log Cabin Rentals

    • Situated in eastern Fairbanks, the Riverbend Log Cabins are within 25 minutes of hiking trails in the White Mountains, and many of the rentals have waterfront locations on the Chena River. This three-and-a-half acre resort features picnicking areas, boat slips and a gourmet breakfast basket prepared by the resort's staff. The breakfast basket is only offered on the first morning of your visit. The resort has two cabins: Chinook and Sourdough. Both cabins have private balconies, kitchens, living rooms, cable televisions and access to Wi-Fi Internet. Riverbend also features a three-bedroom and two bathroom cottage, Riverside.

    Green Cabins

    • Situated in southern Fairbanks, the Green Cabins are approximately 30 minutes from the hiking and cycling trails in the White Mountains. The cabins are less than 10 minutes from kayaking and fishing opportunities in the Chena River. These one-room, eco-friendly cabins are secluded from one another. Each cabin is less than a mile from walking and cycling paths that lead to Downtown Fairbanks. The amenities in the cabins include kitchenettes, private bathrooms, full-sized beds and dining table. Pets may stay with permission. Smoking is not allowed in any of the cabins.

    Aurora Motel and Cabins

    • The Aurora cabins are on the northern edge of Fairbanks, less than 20 minutes from the recreation areas in the White Mountains. These family-owned and operated cabins are also a 15-minute drive from the shops and restaurants in downtown Fairbanks, as well as Fairbanks International Airport. The motel offers complimentary transportation from the cabins to downtown Fairbanks. The Aurora cabins are within walking distance of Tanana Valley State Fairgrounds, where the annual Tanana Valley State Fair is held every August. Each cabin has a queen-sized bed, private bathroom, cable television and telephone. Three of the cabins have kitchen areas. Nightly and weekly rates are available.
