Roughly 10 minutes south from Hillsboro on Interstate 35, this campground earned the 2009 KOA President's Award. The shaded park with creek access provides pull-through RV sites, tent sites and the company's trademark Kabins. It is located halfway between Austin and Dallas/Fort Worth.
Campers can enjoy a game of pool, shuffleboard or ping pong in the game room, which is equipped with a kitchenette. Horseshoe pits and a catch-and-release fishing pond are one site. Campers can enjoy a snack bar, a swimming pool, and free Wi-Fi access. Propane refills are available.

About 15 miles west of town, Rose Harbor RV Park is about a quarter mile from Lake Whitney, which is available for striped bass fishing. Old Fort Park and Cedar Creek Park are within 1½ miles. Cedar Creek Park has a boat launch. Rose Harbor offers restrooms and showers, horseshoe pits and volleyball courts.

Also along Lake Whitney is the Lake Whitney Resorts RV & Golf park, which possesses 415 full hookups, as well as 30-foot trailers available for rent. On the property are a 6,296-yard, 18-hole golf course, a clubhouse and an outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, miniature golf and shuffleboard. There is also a family activity area and visitors here can participate in daily planned activities.
