Approximately 15 miles northwest of Harpers Ferry and on the southern outskirts of Martinsburg, the Nahkeeta Campsite is a private campground located on a property that has been in the same family since 1984. The RV sites at Nahkeeta, which is open throughout the year, all come with water, sewer and electric hook-ups. The electric is either 30- or 50-amp connections. No pop-up trailers or tent camping are allowed. A big feature at this property is the close proximity of swimming, canoeing and fishing opportunities at Opequeon Creek, which directly borders the campground. Hiking and biking trails are located in the immediate area too.

The Brunswick Family Campground, nine miles east of Harpers Ferry, is owned and operated by the city of Brunswick in Maryland. Situated on the Potomac River and along the C&O Canal, the campground has 65 sites for RVs and another 300 for tents. The RV sites have 30-amp electric and water hook-ups. They do not have sewer facilities, but an RV dump station is on the grounds. High-speed wireless Internet is available free of charge on a property that has a boat ramp, three pavilions, picnic tables and a bathhouse with showers. Volleyball and basketball courts as well as horseshoe pits are additional recreational facilities.

The Harpers Ferry/Civil War Battlefields KOA, which is two miles from downtown Harpers Ferry, is equipped with 280 RV sites, 42 cabins and lodges. Among its many amenities are a large conference center, an indoor basketball court, a heated pool, a game room with pool tables, a movie theater, a pizzeria and a giant outdoor checker/chess set. Children will also enjoy its jumping pillow and playground. The RV sites have 50-amp service available and cable TV for a fee. On-site RVs can also be rented. The KOA has a snack bar that's open in the summer, a laundry facility, restrooms, showers, a convenience store and golf cart rentals. Another feature of KOA is its Civil War Reenactors Museum, which is also open in the warmer months. A trail from the park leads to Harpers Ferry National Park.
