RV Campgrounds in Williamsburg, VA

Visitors to Williamsburg, one part of Virginia's historical triangle that also includes Jamestown and Yorktown, can explore the history and attractions of all three cities. RV owners drawn to the area can also buy several-day passes to the Water Country and Busch Gardens theme parks in Williamsburg. Many RV parks offer discount passes to Colonial Williamsburg.

  1. American Heritage RV Park

    • American Heritage is just eight miles from Colonial Williamsburg. It is also near the Williamsburg Prime Outlets shopping mall, and several golf courses and wineries. The park has a supply store that also carries Williamsburg souvenirs. The 95 sites, with full hookups and a choice of shaded or sunlit spaces, come with 20-, 30- or 50-amp electrical power. Seventy of the sites have room for slide-outs. Each RV rental gets guests free wireless Internet access, cable television and concrete patios. The park will deliver fire barrels and firewood to each site. There are bathrooms and a 24- hour laundry facility. Dogs are welcome, and the park has a fenced-in dog walk. American Heritage has a swimming pool, horseshoe pits and basketball court. There is also a lending library and a game room for children. The Heritage Room and a Colonial Room are available for meetings and seminars. The rate is $43.25 nightly, with discounts for AARP or AAA members and members of the military.

    Anvil Campground

    • Anvil Campground is the closest RV park to all major Williamsburg attractions, including the theme parks, and is the only RV facility served by regular Williamsburg Area Transport bus service. The shuttle provides service to Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, Water Country, Yorktown and Jamestown. Each site comes with a picnic table, fire ring and shade trees. There is also high-speed Wi-Fi at each site. Sites offer 30- or 50-amp electrical service and cable television, and discounted tickets to local attractions. Anvil Campground is open year-round and does allow pets at no additional charge. The rates are $39.99 to $49.99 a night, although there are discounted rates for AARP members, seniors, and members of the military and police and firefighters.

    Williamsburg KOA

    • Williamsburg KOA is open from March 1 to December 31. The grounds have 370 sites, some big enough for a 90-foot pull-through. All sites have 50-, 30- or 20-amp electrical service and cable television, and free wireless Internet or modem ports. The camp has a meeting facility and sells tickets on-site to the local attractions. The swimming pool is open from April 10 to October 1. Firewood is available for purchase, and bicycles can be rented. Pets are welcome, and there is a dog park on-site. Williamsburg KOA organizes several group activities for adults and children, both indoor and outdoor. There are bathroom facilities on site. Rates are $63.95 per night.
