Whitewater Township Park is rated as one of the finest and cleanest campground in the area with 40 modern campsites. Located on the shore of Elk Lake, Whitewater Township Park offers red pine sheltered campsites. Campground amenities include a boat launch, new bathhouse and picnic areas.

Scheck's Place State Forest Campground in Williamsburg provides 30 sites for tent and small trailer use. Sites are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. No reservations are accepted. Located on the Boardman River near the Michigan's Shore to Shore Riding-Hiking Trail and Trail Camp, Scheck's Place State Forest Campground offers good boating, canoeing and trout fishing.

Scheck's Place Trail Camp is an area designed for use by equestrian campers riding the Shore to Shore Riding-Hiking Trail. This 400-mile trail is maintained by the Michigan Trail Riders Association. Scheck's Place Trail Camp is located near Scheck's Place State Forest Campground along the Boardman River. Maximum capacity is 200 people and it can accommodate tents and trailers. Non-equestrian campers are welcome, too.
