Silver Lake State Park is a nearly 3,000-acre park comprised of duneland and forests. The area draws tourists to its four miles of Lake Michigan beach and 450 acres of off-road vehicle trails and routes. Most of Silver Lake State Park is situated between Lake Michigan and Silver Lake. Duneland makes up the area between the two lakes, the campground is on the southeast side of Silver Lake in a more wooded area. It has 200 modern campsites with electricity and modern restrooms. Other amenities at the campground include a sanitation station and water. Sites can accommodate both tents and RVs, and 13 of the lots are lakeside. The campground is a short distance from hiking trails, concessions, a Lake Michigan lighthouse and ORV trails.

Sandy Shores Campground and Resort is the only campground on Silver Lake with a private beach. The grounds offer 212 wooded RV campsites, some with full hookups and others with water and electricity only. Amenities at Sandy Shores include bathrooms, laundry facilities, a sandy beach, 30 boat slips and a dock, a playground, volleyball and basketball courts and a heated pool. The campground is located next to a convenience store that carries food, drinks and many camping supplies. Pets are allowed at Sandy Shores, but must remain leashed and not be left unattended. The campground is near Silver Lake State Park, the dunes, hiking trails and Lake Michigan.

Hideaway Campground and Resort is less than a mile south of Silver Lake. It has 215 RV campsites ranging from primitive to water and electric hookups to full hookups. Sixteen of the sites are pull-through for big rig RVs. Hideaway also has fully-furnished cabins for rent. Amenities at the campground include restrooms, showers, a swimming pool, laundry facilities, a playground, game room, camp store and family activities that are both free and fee-based. Pets are allowed at the campsites but not in the cabins. They must remain leashed and not be left unattended. Seasonal camping is available for those who want to stay the entire summer. Hideaway is less than two miles from Lake Michigan and about a mile from Little Point Sable Lighthouse and Silver Lake State Park.
